It took a little while for the birds to use it, but they are , especially the woodpeckers. Easy to clean. The yellow finches are usually after they got use to it

I have a couple starlings who are willing and able to hang upside down to get to the suet, but I think when I change over to plain suet they will stop.
I used a cap from some Olly gummy vitamins on the bottom to lift the suet out of their reach, and it stops them under the cap.
This feeder is very sturdy. I had some 70mph winds come through a few days ago and it was completely undamaged.
The little songbirds are really active at it so far. This is my 4th feeder trying to get rid of starlings, and it's the best so far by a lot.

Love this feeder! The small birds started using it within a couple of days and the bluebirds are starting to follow. I did take the one rail out for now. I like how it keeps the starlings and blackbirds out.

Wonderful feeder that allows room for larger birds to perch as well. Very solid construction and super easy to clean. I got an illustrated poster of Birds of the Southeast so my son and I can identify our backyard birds ☺️

We've had a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers that have tried gymnastic maneuvers to eat from out wire basket suet feeders. We purchased Bird Haven's feeder which appears specifically engineered for our lovely couple. The extended design is perfectly arranged so they can counter-balance with their tails. It's two-sided and large enough for pairs of Downey & Hairy woodpeckers to eat from both sides. Our Red-Bellied Woodpeckers are exempted from two-sided - They prefer to eat alone!

Our Bluebird feeder already had perches on 2 sides, but when we watched our parent Bluebirds try to teach their babies how to enter the feeder, we noticed they struggled for something to land on/attach to since they had not yet perfected their flight skills. We ordered a set of 2 perches to complete our bird feeder with landing platform ALL AROUND.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MADE !
I may add, here, our surprise that the folks @ Bird Haven knew exactly WHICH SET TO SEND (the 2nd set fit perfectly !) !
