To mount your bluebird house, you have two easy options:
Option 1: Use a 7-foot long, 3/4-inch metal electrical conduit (available at most hardware stores). Simply push or drive it into the ground about 18–24 inches deep so it's stable, then attach the house near the top.
Option 2: Use a 36-inch ground stake and slide a 5-foot long 3/4-inch conduit over it. This makes setup easy and adds extra support.
Both methods give your bluebird house the right height and stability for a safe nesting space.

Unused items may be returned within 30 days of delivery. To be eligible, items must be unused, uninstalled, in original condition, and include all parts, hardware, and packaging when possible.
For returns due to changing your mind, ordering the wrong item, or no longer needing the item, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility. If we provide a prepaid return label, the cost of that label will be deducted from your refund.
Original shipping costs are non-refundable. If an order received free shipping, Bird Haven still paid the carrier to ship it, and actual shipping costs may be deducted from the refund in some cases.

We have been fighting sparrows for months in our traditional bluebird houses. We put this up a month ago, and a bluebird family has already moved in!
I’m so impressed with the Bird Haven Sparrow-Resistant Bluebird House
I installed it on April 18, 2026, following the included instructions exactly, and the setup was straightforward and easy. The mounting system felt sturdy and well thought out, and the recycled poly lumber construction feels extremely durable and weather resistant.
Today, May 23, 2026, a pair of Eastern Bluebirds officially started building a nest in it. It’s rewarding to see bluebirds accept the box so quickly in its very first season.
If you want a high-quality bluebird house that is easy to install and thoughtfully designed for bluebird safety, I would absolutely recommend this one.
Now that I have become a Bluebird landlord, I know I also need a raccoon proof baffle and sparrow spooker!

My wife ordered 2 of these a few weeks ago. We also got a feeder. We’ve had 2 nest for several years but no luck. The feeder was used quickly by a half dozen or more birds regularly. Yesterday, I finally got one of the feeder up. This morning by 8:00 am, we already had visitors so around noon, I got the other nest up. By 2:00 this afternoon, it had a pair visiting.
My wife ordered more nest. To say the least, we are excited with the product and service.

The day after I put up my birdhouses, sparrows showed up and were basically taking charge of them. I though these were sparrow resistent?
Thanks for your feedback. This house is based on the proven Troyer sparrow-resistant design. While sparrow-resistant doesn’t mean sparrows won’t investigate, the slotted entrance and reduced interior space make it far less appealing to them over time.

The house is great quality, but blue birds rejected it twice. They built a nest, laid one egg, then left. Second time they built a nest, then left.
My guess is it is too small. There is a simply not enough room inside for a nest and a brood of babies.

That is definitely unusual, especially since bluebirds will sometimes abandon a nest for reasons that aren’t obvious, such as disturbance, predators, or loss of a mate. If you feel they would prefer a little more open space inside, you can try removing the nest cup and letting them build directly in the box.

So far no takers but that's ok. They'll come. My only question, the small crock like dish in the birdhouse, is that for them to build their nest in? Always thought they simply built their nest on the floor of the house or on the wire on the floor. I have purchased different feeders and houses and have been quite satisfied with all of them. And yes, the small dish is there for them to build the nest in. The idea is to help encourage a more compact nest shape and make it a little harder for sparrows to establish themselves compared to a traditional flat-floor design.

House sparrows moving in right away can happen, especially if they’re already active in the area. This design is meant to discourage them over time, not prevent that initial interest. We recommend clearing the nest early and as often as needed.
Mounted the nesting box and blue birds moved in a few days later! So far no wrens. 🤞
Well built, however, this house is not sparrow resistant. From the day I put it up house sparrows immediately took residence in it. The male sits at the slot opening and twice I’ve cleared the inside of it. I even moved it away from trees and placed it on the side of my house that gets the most sun. All of the features they mention sparrows don’t like doesn’t seem to faze these annoying sparrows. I’m so disappointed. I get lots of bluebirds at my feeder but they didn’t even get a chance to move in.

This house is based on the Troyer “sparrow-resistant” design. It’s meant to discourage sparrows, not stop them from trying, especially the persistent ones. I haven’t seen them complete a full nest in this style, but that doesn’t mean they won’t if options are limited.
It sounds like you’re doing the right things by staying on top of it. That early pressure is often what determines whether they move on and give bluebirds a chance.

That’s actually pretty common early on. Sparrows will often check out a box before nesting, and bluebirds can take a little time to claim it depending on timing and placement.
If sparrows do start bringing in nesting material, it’s best to remove it right away. Once bluebirds take interest, things usually shift in your favor.
Hope you see some bluebird activity soon.
The bluebirds moved in the day after we put it up! I noticed sparrows checking it out but no effort to use the box. We'll see what the future brings.
